Mother's Day- the day we honour our mother's love and influence in society is right around the corner. This year we'll be celebrating Mother's Day on 9th May that falls on Sunday.

Strawberry-Banana Milkshake

A special drink for a special lady on a special day!! 

Strawberry Banana Milkshake is a great way to start dinner on Mother’s Day. Let's see how you can make this yummy milkshake in 5 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups of Cold Milk
  • 1 Cup of Frozen Strawberries
  • 1 Cup of Frozen Banana
  • 1 Scoop Vanilla Icecream
  • Sugar to Taste
  • 4-5 Icecubes
  • Whipped cream

Method:

  • Take all these ingredients in the blender and blend everything properly.
  • Now pour them into glasses, and garnish it whipped cream, a slice of banana and a strawberry.

 

Paneer Tikka:

The soft texture and delicious taste of paneer tikka is everyone's favourite. This Mother’s Day food recipe serves best as an appetizer. This Punjabi delicacy tastes even better when served with pudina chutney. 

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Paneer (Chopped in Small Squares)
  • 1/2 Cup Hung Curd (Yogurt)
  • 1 Cup of Capsicum and Onion (Chopped in Big Chunks)
  • 2 Tsp of Ginger- Garlic Powder or Paste
  • 1 Tsp of Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp of Garam Masala
  • 1 Tsp of Chat Masala
  • 1/2 Tsp of Kasuri Methi
  • 1 Tbsp of Finely Chopped Coriander
  • 1 Tbsp of Oil
  • Salt to Taste

Method:

  • In a pan, take ginger-garlic paste or powder, chilli powder, garam masala, kasuri methi, coriander, oil and salt. Add hung curd and mix properly. 
  • Now add paneer, capsicum and onion to the mixture and coat them with the marinade. Keep it aside for an hour.
  • Take wooden skewers and thread the marinated paneer, capsicum, and onion pieces to it. Now grill them on the stove and all the sides applying little oil till nicely charred and cooked. 
  • Serve it hot with pudina chutney. 

 

Pad Thai Noodles:

You can always make good Indian food, but the special day demands an even more special Mother’s Day meal. This pad thai noodle is with a touch of Indian touch is a great light yet filling the main course. 

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups of Boiled Rice Noodles
  • 1 Cup Bean Sprouts
  • 1/2 Cup Diced Paneer
  • 1/2 Cup Spring Onions
  • 4 Tbsp Oil
  • 5 Tbsp of Roasted Peanuts
  • 1/2 Tbsp of Finely Chopped Garlic
  • 2 Tbsp of Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tbsp of Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp of Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp of Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tbsp of Coriander Leaves
  • Salt to Taste

Method:

  • In a deep pan, heat oil and add garlic in it; sauté for a few seconds. Now add beans, peanuts & noodles.
  • Cook the mixture for 2-3 minutes and stir continuously. Now add paneer, spring onions, chilli powder, soy sauce, sugar, lemon juice and stir for another 2-3 minutes on high flame.
  • You pad thai noodles is ready, serve it in a big bowl and garnish it with coriander leaves and some roasted peanuts. 

 

Chocolate Mousse:

Everyone loves chocolate, and so the creamy, light chocolate mousse is the perfect dessert recipe for Mother's Day. The luscious dark chocolate combined with whipped cream makes chocolate mousse hard to resist.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Chopped Dark Chocolate
  • 1/4 Cup Milk
  • 2 Cups Beaten Whipped Cream
  • 1/4 Tsp of Vanilla Essence
  • 2 Tsp of Honey
  • Sugar to Taste

Method:

  • Melt the chocolate using a double boiler, add milk to it and mix well. 
  • Now add sugar and 1 cup of whipped cream to it and fold gently. Do not mix; just fold. 
  • Add vanilla essence, honey and half of the whipped cream and fold gently.
  • Now pour the mixture into small bowls or glasses and freeze for 2 hours.
  • Garnish it with whipped cream and grated chocolate.
