Weight loss recipe - Spinach soup:

A hot bowl of soup is a delectable source of high protein and fiber. It is comforting and everyone’s go-to meal in sickness and in health. Spinach is low in calories. Although it is completely green, a lot of good spices go into making it. Spices like white pepper powder, black pepper powder, cumin powder, a pinch of red chilli powder, and some salt. It is a fuller recipe, let’s have a look at the ingredients.

How to make it?

  • Take a pan. Add a tablespoon of butter. Add cumin seeds and minced garlic to it. Sauté the garlic until golden.
  • Add spinach and cook it in water for about 3 minutes until blanched.
  • Add the spices. Let it come to a boil.
  • Turn off the gas and let the mixture cool down.
  • Add the mixture to a grinder and grind it until smooth
  • Serve it hot and enjoy!

Weight loss recipe - Vegetable dal khichdi:

Khichdi is a south Asian cuisine and is used as an evening meal in most Gujarati households. It is a combination dish made with rice and moong lentils. It's full of nutrition, protein, and fiber as it is filled with lots of vegetables. You could add any vegetables and spices of your choice. Now, let’s have a look at the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup tomatoes, capsicum, peas, carrot, onion, french beans (vegetables of your choice)
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 2 cloves (laung)
  • 1 tbsp cumin/jeera
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 chopped green chilli
  • ½ asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ cup rice
  • ½ cup moong lentil

How to make it?

  • Take a pressure cooker. Add ghee and let it come to heat. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Let it simmer and then add the chopped green chilli and clove. Add the ginger-garlic paste and mix it well.
  • Now add your choice of vegetables or as mentioned above. Add the spices and saut it well.
  • Add rice and moong dal with 2 cups of water
  • Pressure cook it until you achieve a semi-thick consistency. Mix it with a heavy hand and sever hot with pickle or creamy curd.

P.S. You can replace rice with brown rice, but adjust the cooking time accordingly.

Weight loss recipe - Dates ke laddoo (khajur na laadu):

The combination of dates and nuts is a power bank of nutrition. Although it has dates, it's not very sweet. However, a diabetic patient must consider his/her doctor before consuming it. let us have a look at the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup oats
  • ½ cup almonds
  • ½ cup flake seeds
  • 1½ cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1½ cup sunflower seeds
  • 2 cup dates
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • ½ tbsp Elaichi (cardamom powder)
  • ½ tbsp ginger powder

How to make it? 

  • Dry roast the nuts, Elaichi powder, and ginger powder in ghee for about a minute or two until it smells delicious!
  • Roughly grind the dates and nuts together. 
  • Take small portions of the mixture and give it the desired shape. Enjoy!
