1) Turmeric powder

Your mother still suggests you drink milk with turmeric powder, doesn’t she? And even though you might ignore her pleas a hundred times, you can’t deny its medicinal benefits. Turmeric powder is rich in antimicrobial properties. Thus, it not only cures infections but also prevents it.  All thanks to Curcumin, a compound present in turmeric powder, which has these properties. Apart from this, it has anti-inflammatory properties as well which cure inflammation.

So, either drink milk with turmeric powder or make turmeric tea. To make turmeric tea, add one teaspoon of turmeric powder to one cup of boiling water. Taste of the tea can be with lemon, honey, and ginger.

2) Hing (Asafoetida)

The little amount of Hing (Asafoetida) which you often use while cooking is actually a wonder ingredient! It lends a wonderful aroma and a peculiar taste to the food. Along with it, Hing has many medicinal properties like anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral properties. Such properties boost the immunity of the body and damage free radicals. As immunity is at a huge risk during monsoon season, such properties prove to be useful and save you from the harmful effects on health.

Thus, add a pinch of Hing to the vegetable curries and dal you make. To be experimental, you can also try making Hing-ke-Parathe. These paratha’s are quite delicious in taste and can prove to be a great cure during this season.

3) Tea masala

A hot cup of tea is all you need in this cold climate. And when you know that this hot cup of tea is a great remedy way to boost your health, then it calls for more cups of Tea. But we are talking about masala tea here. Tea masala used to make this tea is rich in numerous medicinal properties. Ingredients like ginger, black pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, mace, cardamom, cloves present in this tea masala improve oxygen levels in the blood and the immunity. They boost metabolism which becomes slow during the rainy season.

So, make a hot cup of tea using tea masala and have it regularly. Don’t order it from outside as it may be contaminated in this rainy season.
